Holiday park with Wi-Fi across the entire site

The challenge

• Wi-Fi collapsed as soon as the park filled up, especially in the evenings.
• Large distances between fields and dense vegetation blocking the signal.
• When the fixed line failed the entire park stopped, including tills and barriers.
• The site manager had no visibility into where the problem was.

Our approach

1. 01

   Site coverage survey

   A coverage survey during peak season showed field by field where capacity fell short and where vegetation absorbed the signal.

2. 02

   Fibre ring and outdoor points

   A fibre ring connects the technical rooms, feeding eighteen outdoor access points with directional antennas per field.

3. 03

   Failover and critical systems

   Tills, barriers and CCTV sit in a separate network segment with automatic 5G failover, so the park keeps running during a line fault.

4. 04

   Analytics per field

   In the portal the manager sees per field how many guests are online, what they consume and where capacity needs to be added.

The result

• Coverage across all 300 pitches, including outdoors at the accommodation.
• Critical systems stay online when the fixed connection fails.
• Insight per field into usage, peaks and faults.
• Wi-Fi complaints dropped sharply in the following season.
